Platja d’Aro Carnival
Soak up the spectacle of one of the Costa Brava’s most popular and joyful carnivals
Platja d’Aro Carnival
With a history dating back more than 40 years, the Platja de Aro Carnival, or ‘Carnestoltes,’ as it is known locally, is one of the Costa Brava and region of Empordà’s most famous. Floats and troupes parade through the streets filling the town centre with fun and colour, all within a few minutes from the hotel. Fat Thursday, the Grand Parade of Floats and Troupes and the traditional Burial of the Sardine, which ends more than a week of festivities, are the high points of this popular and friendly carnival.
